SUBJECT:
Approval of salary increase for Linda Cox, City Clerk, discussed at the August 11, 2025 City Commission Budget Workshop for a new annual salary in the amount of $145,000.00 effective October 1, 2025; said annual salary to be inclusive of the 5% cost of living increase being provided to City employees effective October 1, 2025.
SUMMARY:
During the July 14, 2025 City Commission day meeting, the Mayor and City Commission conducted the annual performance evaluation of City Clerk Linda Cox. At that meeting, the Mayor and City Commission proposed a salary increase for the City Clerk, however they determined additional information and discussion was needed. At the July 21, 2025, the Mayor and City Commission reached consensus that an annual salary of $160,000.00 was appropriate, the salary would include the 5% cost of living increase being proposed for city employees, and would be effective October 1, 2025. At the August 4, 2025 City Commission meeting, the commission decided to re-evaluate the $160,000 salary; at the August 11, 2025 budget workshop, they agreed by consensus to a new salary of $145,000.00, inclusive of the 5% cost of living increase to be effective October 1, 2025.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve increase.
