The Conference Agenda Meeting was called to order at 9:00 A.M.

Commissioner Sessions arrived at 9:11 a.m.

New Business
 
a.
Presentation by FDOT consultant, Hardesty & Hanover, on progress of the replacement of North Causeway Bridge.
Michael Sileno, Project Manager and Henri Sinson, Project Engineer, Hardesty and Hanover, presented the progress of the replacement of the North Casueway Bridge. The project is divided into 4 zones, zone 1 SR A1A Bridge, zone 2 Old Dixie Highway & US 1, zone 3 Local Access & East Coast Greenway, and zone 4 Park Access.
 
b.
Sports Tourism Initiative
Executive Director of the Treasure Coast Sports Commission, Rick Hatcher presented the 2019 update and the projected outcomes for 2020. The program received funding via the Tourist Development Tax, FSF Grants, Corporate Partnerships, and event revenue. Mr. Hatcher also presented an overview of the five-year St Lucie County Impact Plan, 2019 events, Covid-19 recovery plan, rescheduled events for March 15 – June 30, 2020, canceled events and return to play.
 
 
c.
Annexation Strategies
Planning Director, Jennifer Hofmeister presented the strategy and update on annexations. The annexation strategy is a proposed three-step process. The City is broken down into four quadrants Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast with five hundred sixty-one signed annexation contracts. Over the next four years target areas of annexation will be addressed.

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC

Any person who wishes to comment on any subject may be heard at this time. Please limit your comments to three (3) minutes or less, as directed by the Mayor, as this section of the Agenda is limited to thirty minutes. The City Commission will not be able to take any official actions under Comments from the Public. Speakers will address the Mayor, Commissioners, and the Public with respect. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated.

6.
City Commission Boards and Committees Updates
Commission Alexander reported that all boards he is on have canceled meetings due to COVID-19, but The Council on Aging had replaced their transportation provider.
Commissioner Perona reported that he attended the FMPA virtual meeting, and their goal is to reduce the holding on coal.

Commissioner Sessions report that meetings has been canceled due to COVID-19.

Commissioner Johnson reported that Main Street continues to fund raise, TPO is evaluating I-95 and updated membership and Indian River Drive. St Lucie County Environmental updated the results of their work in the City.

Mayor Hudson Fort Pierce Utility Authority has enacted a plan to prevent disconnections in partnership with the County. The Roundtable has evaluated the comprehensive gang model showing that violent crime in the City has been reduced by seventy percent. Florida League of Cities is having the annual conference virtually and will fill vacancies.

Adjournment

Immediately following adjournment, please move toward the doors and exit the chambers. This allows for the safe and courteous exit of all persons, and those on the dais. Conversations after the meeting should be held outside of chambers, in the foyer or elsewhere, but not in the commission chambers where lights will be out as soon as the chambers are empty.
