OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE FORT PIERCE CRA ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, IN FORT PIERCE 2ND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM, 100 NORTH US HIGHWAY 1, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA.

Approval of the Minutes from the February 17, 2021 Meeting

CHAIRMAN VIEWPOINTS
Chairman Viewpoints:
- Welcome the 2 board members that have been re-appointed, Carolyn Mann-Lurry and Kristina Gibbons.
- Thank you to those who attended the FPRA meeting.
- The City Manager has encouraged the board to participate in the 10-year redevelopment plan, so ideas are welcomed.
- There are 9 members on the board, and it takes 6 members to start the meeting. Attendance and coming in on time is appreciated.

OLD BUSINESS
a.
Follow-up from the FPRA Board Meeting
Charlie Frank Matthews began with letting the board know that they will take a tour of the 1st floor of the Sunrise Center in the parking garage after adjourning the meeting.
Mr. Matthews and Sabrina Taylor spoke on how they presented the recommendations to the FPRA and both recommendations were well-received by the FPRA board.

b.
Review of Playset Locations by the Public Works Department
Public Works Deputy Director, Derrick Johnson who is a certified playground safety inspector reviewed the potential locations the CRA board provided, and he had some concerns and opposed the proposed locations. Mr. Johnson said that there are safety guidelines when choosing a location. Accessibility, surrounding activities, sight line, supervision, if a child can wander off are some requirements that need to be taken into consideration in the placement of the play sets.
The board discussed their ideas of what they would like to see in the downtown area and some play sets they would like to see.

Identify Priority Goals from the Updated FPRA Plan
Shyanne Harnage began the conversation on how the board can use the current FPRA Plan and use the proposed goals and projects to set the priority goals. She reminded the board that their role is to inspire development in the FPRA and evaluate the FPRA owned parcels.

NEW BUSINESS
a.
Evaluate responses to Bid No.2021-017 - Sale of Surplus Property - 414 Ave D and make recommendations to the FPRA Board
Three proposals were received for 414 Ave D. The board evaluated them based on the proposed utilization, economic impact and timeline. They discussed each proposal and the plans and gave their opinions. The recommendations to the FPRA will be to enter negotiations with the highest rank which is 5 Star with a score of 660.
