OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE FORT PIERCE CRA ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 19, IN FORT PIERCE 2ND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM, 100 NORTH US HIGHWAY 1, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA.

CHAIRMAN VIEWPOINTS
1. The Committee needs to put their ideas together to instill in the district beautification and community pride.
2. We are moving ahead on selling and advertising on abandoned properties.
3. We need to take an aggressive view on funds and budgetary projects related to the CRA District.
4. As a CRA Committee, we need to make regular recommendations to the FPRA Board.

a.
FPRA Incentive Program
 

Motion was made by Al Johnson, and seconded by Hoyt Murphy, Jr. Recommendation to the FPRA that they explore all five(5) incentive programs.

Shyanne Harnage spoke on the grants program, focusing on commercial incentives. The grants are: commercial facade grants, interior uplift grants, business innovation grants, PAD activation grants. These grants will help businesses improve. Shyanne explained each grant and how they will help businesses and how much each one is, $150,000 is allocated for this grant program.
 
b.
Rebranding of FPRA
Commissioner Curtis Johnson Jr. requested that the FPRA logo be updated. Shyanne showed the Committee some examples of other FPRA logos from other cities in South Florida. The Committee came up with some ideas of what they would like to see and Shyanne said she would bring some samples for them to look at for the June meeting.

Disposal of FPRA Surplus Property - 321 N 13th Street

Motion was made by Kristina Gibbons, and seconded by Carolyn Mann-Lurry Recommending to the FPRA Board that the property at 321 North 13 Street be awarded to Brego Construction.

Shyanne Harnage began the conversation on how the properties were put out for Bid and proposals were received. Shyanne explained the process on how the FPRA and City owned properties are evaluated. Sh began by describing each property and how many bids were received and ranking the highest bid. After she described all the properties, the Committee made their recommendations to present to the FPRA Board.
