Mayor Linda Hudson called the January 10, 2022 Conference Agenda Meeting of the City Commission to order at 9:00 A.M.

Parking Committee Recommendations
Mr. Michael Broderick, Chair, City of Fort Pierce Parking Committee and Mrs. Audria Moore-Wells, Special Projects Coordinator, presented the Parking Committee’s recommendations.
1.Designated Law Enforcement Parking
2.Walker Parking Inventory Analysis of Downtown Fort Pierce
3.Additional Free Public Parking Solution
Commission discussed the long-term cost with Walker Consultants.

Overview of Impact Fee Moratorium
Shyanne Harnage, Economic Development Manager, presented data on the outcome of the Impact Fee Moratorium and extension for an additional year.
The Commission agreed on an extension of six months and review of data at that time.

Report by Committee Chairperson Charles Hayek on the results of the Police Community Advisory Committee’s Community Survey.
Mr. Hayek presented the outcome of the Police Community Advisory Committee’s Community Survey. The outcomes where favorable based on the surveys received which were limited due to the pandemic.
Commissioner Jeremiah Johnson recommended additional forms of community engagement including reaching out to local HOA’s for survey distribution.

City Commission Boards and Committees Updates
Commissioner Curtis Johnson has not yet had board meetings
Commissioner Jeremiah has not yet had board meetings but reminded the Commission about Mainstreets Reverse Raffle in February and Friday Fest.
Commissioner Tom Perona reported that the Sunrise Theater has canceled both events in honor of Mr. Little due to the pandemic. Jaycee Park Committee has experienced setbacks due to the pandemic.
Commissioner Arnold Gaines attended the Treasure Council of Local Government and has additional meetings this week , he and Commissioner Curtis Johnson attended the Opening Ceremony leading up to Martin Luther King celebrations.
Mayor Hudson announced that the Legislature convenes January 11, Florida League of Cities has weekly conference calls on Monday for updates on the previous week. Fort Pierce Utilities Authorities is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with celebrations all year long, and Thursday, January 20th the Fire District is speaking to the St. Lucie Historical Society on the History of the Fire District.

Immediately following adjournment, please move toward the doors and exit the chambers. This allows for the safe and courteous exit of all persons, and those on the dais. Conversations after the meeting should be held outside of chambers, in the foyer or elsewhere, but not in the commission chambers where lights will be out as soon as the chambers are empty.
