Call to Order
Mayor Linda Hudson called the February 14, 2022 Conference Agenda Meeting of the City Commission to order at 9:00 A.M.

New Business
 
a.
Presentation of St Lucie Public Schools 2021 graduation rates
Wayne Gent presented the data of the 2021 graduation rates of St Lucie County Public Schools.
The Commission questioned how they raised the graduation rates throughout St Lucie County. Mr. Gent stated they start the monitoring and graduation coaching in middle school.
The Commissioners congratulated Mr. Gent on his retirement and enthusiasm throughout the years.
 
b.
Sunrise Theatre Update & Recommendations
Rebecca Shearer and Luke Crogan gave an update on the Sunrise Theater and presented the recommendations from the consultants.
The Commissioners questioned the need for the employees to be City staff rather than being specialty contracted employees.

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC

Any person who wishes to comment on any subject may be heard at this time. Please limit your comments to three (3) minutes or less, as directed by the Mayor, as this section of the Agenda is limited to thirty minutes. The City Commission will not be able to take any official actions under Comments from the Public. Speakers will address the Mayor, Commissioners, and the Public with respect. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated.

City Commission Boards and Committees Updates
Commissioner Thomas Perona mentioned the Sunrise Theater just made their presentation and the Parking Committee had no quorum.
 
Commissioner Arnold Gaines met with the Homelessness Task Force, the Council on Aging, Lincoln Park Main Street for the wax museum presentation, and Council on Local Government.
 
Commissioner Jeremiah Johnson went to the TDC meeting, reminded everyone of the Main Street event on the 19th, and attended the chamber meeting.
 
Commissioner Curtis Johnson mentioned there will be four major journalists visiting for historical tours, he attended the TPO meeting and addressed the amount of dark road ways in our city, he mentioned there will be a big meeting in March for the Regional Planning Council, and he would like to encourage a meeting with the Port Advisory Board.
 
Mayor Linda Hudson met with Treasure Coast League of Cities and was named Chairperson on the Fire Board. She reminded everyone of the cannon presentation tomorrow the 15th.

Adjournment

Immediately following adjournment, please move toward the doors and exit the chambers. This allows for the safe and courteous exit of all persons, and those on the dais. Conversations after the meeting should be held outside of chambers, in the foyer or elsewhere, but not in the commission chambers where lights will be out as soon as the chambers are empty.
Mayor Hudson adjourned the meeting at 10:25 A.M.
