New Business
a.
Presentation by Colliers International on Sunrise Center Utilization
Mr. Ken Krasnow with Colliers International gave the presentation on the possible tenants of the 4th floor in the Parking Garage. The Commission discussed the advantages and disadvantages of ATF moving into the Sunrise Center and determined they will need more information before they can give a definite answer.
b.
Short term and Vacation Rental Fee Discussion
City Clerk Linda Cox, and Community Response Director Peggy Arraiz gave the Short Term and Vacation Rental fee presentation. They discussed taking the Short Term and Vacation rental application process back in office and keeping the enforcement and 24 hour hotline portion of the Granicus program. The Commission agreed they will need more data and a proper recommendation before they can agree on a change in the Rental Registration fee.

Discussion of the 2023 legislative priorities.
Special Projects Coordinator Audria Moore-Wells gave the update on the 2023 legislative priorities. The Commission discussed a few items they would like to add to the priorities list. They added looking into Transportation, Tourism Tax, and additional Senior Services.
d.
City Commission Boards and Committee assignment discussion.
The Commission discussed the Boards and Committee assignments and decided to keep them all the same.

City Commission Boards and Committees Updates
Commissioner Arnold Gaines mentioned most of his boards did not meet, Lincoln Park Main Street hosted Christmas at Moore’s Creek this past weekend.
Commissioner Jeremiah Johnson mentioned TDC did not meet due to hurricane Nicole, but they will be meeting Wednesday this week. Main Street held the Sights and Sounds Parade, and they think it was the highest turn out they have had over the past few years. Main Street will also be hosting the Reverse Raffle. The Downtown Business Alliance discussed the Master Plan. The TPO discussed infrastructure and the Midway and Turnpike interchange. The Chamber of Commerce met last week, and they discussed the Master Plan and the future of the Seven Gables house.
Commissioner Curtis Johnson discussed that the Port Authority did not meet. He let everyone know that the family, in honor of the late Commissioner Rufus Alexander, will be passing out toys for children in the city on the corner of 25th Street and Avenue Q from 12-3 P.M. This Tuesday there will be a memorial service for Samuel Tony Barnes who served the city as the Purchasing Director for many years.
Commissioner Michael Broderick did not have any committees to discuss but did want to let them know he will be sitting in as the city’s liaison for the Orange Avenue Corridor Association.
Mayor Linda Hudson said the Fire Board will be picking a new Chief. The Treasure Coast League of Cities has a luncheon at the Captain Hirams in Sebastian this week and the Commission is welcome to join. FMIT gave a report on the losses from Hurricane Ian and, because the loss was so high, there will be a rate increase in Florida.

Immediately following adjournment, please move toward the doors and exit the chambers. This allows for the safe and courteous exit of all persons, and those on the dais. Conversations after the meeting should be held outside of chambers, in the foyer or elsewhere, but not in the commission chambers where lights will be out as soon as the chambers are empty.
