MINUTES OF A  MEETING OF THE PARKING COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE 2ND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM, 100 NORTH U.S. #1, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 9:00 A.M. ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 13, 2022.

CALL TO ORDER
Michael Broderick called the July 13, 2022, Parking Committee meeting to order at 9:04 A.M.

Audria Moore-Wells, Special Projects Coordinator, Sara Delgado, Administrative Assistant, Janey Vanderhorst, Code Compliance Supervisor

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
 

Motion was made by David Bushea, seconded by Dan Cushman to approve the minutes of the June 08, 2022 Meeting.

The Parking Committee will not be able to take any official action under “Comments from the Public” section.

OLD BUSINESS
 
a.
Downtown Fort Pierce Parking Analysis
The committee discussed the recommendations they will be presenting to the Commissioners at the upcoming Conference Agenda in August. They have a list of four items to recommend to the Commission: the items not covered in the downtown parking analysis like the updated parking needs of St. Lucie County and regular occurring events, request an updated parking analysis within 30 days from St. Lucie County to determine their specific parking needs, engaging St. Lucie County in their involvement to resolve the parking shortage in downtown Fort Pierce, and having the city manager reach out to the county administrator to schedule a meeting within 90 days.

This item was tabled for next month’s discussion.

COMMITTEE AND STAFF COMMENTS
Special Projects Coordinator, Audria Moore-Wells asked Code Compliance Supervisor, Janey Vanderhorst, to give a brief update. Ms. Vanderhorst mentioned there is now a Full-time code enforcement officer to enforce the 2 hour parking in downtown Fort Pierce as well as assistance from all other code officers.

Michael Broderick adjourned the meeting at 10:02 AM.
