Ordinance No. 15-052 Levying and collecting taxes for Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2015 and ending September 30,2016; adopting Final Millage Rate. SECOND READING
City Clerk Linda Cox introduced the ordinance, read in its entirety into the record.
Finance Director Gloria Johnson publicly announced the City of Fort Pierce is proposing a millage rate of 6.90 to fund general funds 2016 budget of $35,853,263, the rate exceeds the rollback rate of 6.3806 by 8.14%. The increase is to establish and finance a capital outlay program and to fund public safety initiative.
Mayor Hudson opened the Public Hearing.
Seeing no one, Mayor Hudson closed the Public Hearing.

Resolution No. 15-R23 - Establishing a formal policy on the restriction of General Fund revenue for Fiscal Year 2016.
City Clerk Linda Cox introduced the resolution, read by title only, into the record.
Ms. Johnson stated this resolution is in effect to restrict $600,000 of the general funds ad valorem taxes to pay the $1.4 million debt service annually and to allocate $400,000 toward capital outlay projects in the future.
