MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE KEEP FORT PIERCE BEAUTIFUL ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD AT GARDEN CLUB OF FORT PIERCE - 911 PARKWAY DRIVE, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 11:00 AM. ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2023.

Call to Order
Caleta Scott called the October 17, 2023 Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Advisory Board meeting to order at 11:07 AM.

a.
Approval of Minutes from August 15, 2023 Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Advisory Board Meeting
Motion was made by Bob Burdge, seconded by Matthew Samuel to approve the minutes of the August 15, 2023 Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Advisory Board Meeting.

Fall Field Trip - Nov 1 or Nov 2
The Board discussed upcoming fall field trip dates and schedule. 

Motion was made by Bob Burdge for November 2, 2023.

b.
Quarterly Cleanup - Nov 4
The Board discussed the upcoming quarterly cleanup, promoting the cleanups, a promotional flyer being created with all the upcoming dates, and cleanup dates being added to the city calendar. 
 
c.
Planning discussion - Great American Cleanup - March 9, 2024
The Board discussed the upcoming Great American Cleanup; having a kick-off breakfast at a location downtown Fort Pierce; and identifying specific projects/locations and  possibly having a board member at each location. The Board is to bring project ideas to discuss at the next meeting.

New Business
 
a.
Review of KFPB Goals/Terms
Board member terms will be reviewed at next meeting. 
 
b.
Discuss future topics of interest
The Board discussed previous participation in Christmas lights contest and possibly planning to do something similar in the future; wrapping electrical boxes and the blue tubes on the beach initiatives; Georgia's campaign 'Georgia's coast is not an ashtray'; and applying for grants to assist with funding. Mayor Hudson requested more information on Georgia's campaign for future discussion. 

Rachel Tennant, FPUA, advised that the electrical box wraps project was put on hold for various reasons but is not off FPUA's radar for the future.

Marsha Commond, Redevelopment Specialist, discussed the murals project. 

The Board discussed the new trees on Orange Avenue. Staff assured that the trees are healthy and doing well. 

The Board discussed the painted flower pot initiative. Currently three pots are being painted but the Board would like to receive funding for more.  Staff suggested presenting the idea to the Arts and Culture Advisory Board.
