MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE CITY HALL COMMISSION CHAMBERS, 100 NORTH U.S. #1, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 10:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2023.

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Hudson called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Commissioner Michael Broderick; Commissioner Curtis Johnson, Jr.; Mayor Linda Hudson

Absent:

Commissioner Arnold Gaines; Commissioner Jeremiah Johnson

City Attorney Sara Hedges

Commissioner Broderick left the meeting at 10:47 a.m.
Commissioner Gaines arrived at 10:57 a.m.

Please limit your comments to three (3) minutes or less, as directed by the Mayor, as this section of the Agenda is limited to fifteen minutes. The City Commission will not be able to take any official actions under Comments from the Public. Speakers will address the Mayor, Commissioners, and the Public with respect. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated.

NEW BUSINESS

Meeting Procedures and Quasi-Judicial Hearing Training- Randy Mora, Esq.

Sara Hedges, City Attorney, introduced Randy Mora, Esq. who provided a training on public meeting principles, conflicts of interest and voting conflicts, a general overview of Sunshine Law, public meeting requirements, and legislative and quasi-judicial hearing procedures, standards of proof, due process, and competent substantial evidence.

ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Hudson adjourned the meeting at 12:01 p.m.
