CHAIRMAN VIEWPOINTS
Chairman Thompson commented that demolitions remain an ongoing issue, some existing for 15-20 years or more, causing significant despair. Chairman Thompson wants to seek approval to present to the FPRA Board changes to the rules and regulations concerning the time frame for property owners to undertake repairs or face property condemnation; to be decided on a case-by-case basis. Chairman Thompson requested to discuss this further during the July CRA meeting.

Surplus Property Update
Redevelopment Specialist Miriam Garcia provided an update on the progress of the surplus properties that have been sold within the last 3 years. There is a new development agreement where prospective developers have deadlines to apply for permits, commence construction and complete construction. Each one is a case-by-case basis and some timelines may differ.  If conditions are not met, there is a revert clause that will allow Fort Pierce to regain ownership of property.
