MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE KEEP FORT PIERCE BEAUTIFUL ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD AT RIVER WALK CENTER - 600 N. INDIAN RIVER DRIVE, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 11:00 AM. ON WEDNESDAY JANUARY 24, 2024.

Call to Order
Caleta Scott called the January 24, 2023 Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Advisory Board meeting to order at 11:05 AM.

Motion was made by Matthew Samuel, seconded by Charlene Adair to approve the minutes of the October 17, 2023 Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Advisory Board Meeting.

Field Trip Recap
The Board discussed the 2023 fall field trip, expressing interest in the adopt a park program; murals around the city; and small signs at the entrances to the parks.

Manatee Center parking lot will be available for the event Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 7:00 a.m.-Noon.

FPUA will be providing a grab and go breakfast of fruit and pre-made breakfast sandwiches. 

The Board discussed vendors and community engagement; supply pickup; shirts and goodie bags; providing reusable water bottles; project locations; Arbor Day project; CA Moore school-based group participation; everyday Fort Pierce cleanup, ideas to involve local businesses; and the need for additional advertising methods suggesting a mini commercial. 

Staff advised that supplies and shirts will be available for pick up at public works Compound, 52 Savannah Rd. Fort Pierce, FL 34982 Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday March 8, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the day of the event at the registration table at 8 a.m. Coffee mugs will be at the registration table and given out to volunteers the day of the event. Staff will provide a registration spreadsheet in split alphabetical order and community service forms. FPUA staff will provide four tables for the registration area. Staff members will arrive at 7:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Arbor Day project will take place at the Jetty round about at 10 a.m. The Arbor Day proclamation will be March 4th, 2024 at 5:05 p.m. The Board designated South Bridge, Downtown, and Moore’s Creek Linear Park as specific projects; however, volunteers are encouraged to cleanup in any area or neighborhood of their choosing. Flyers will be provided to everyone electronically and hard copies will be brought to the next meeting.

Beautification efforts 
Staff discussed Fort Pierce Beautification efforts and the Commission tasking this advisory board with assessing the Public Works Department’s needs regarding equipment and personnel.

The Board discussed the Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Advisory Board terms.
