STAFF AND COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS
Donna Benton requested a comprehensive overview of CRA-funded projects completed over the past five years. Staff agreed to compile this information, along with a summary of current projects, for discussion at the next meeting.
The Committee highlighted the importance of maintaining city-owned assets and exploring ways to generate revenue from underutilized properties.
There was strong support for a strategic, block-by-block approach to redevelopment, rather than isolated improvements. Suggestions included implementing small but impactful efforts such as pressure washing pavers and repainting streetlight poles. The conversation also emphasized the need for a long-term vision that prioritizes heritage preservation and elevates the overall aesthetic of the downtown area.
