MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE ARTS AND CULTURE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE 2ND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL, 100 NORTH U.S. #1, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2025.

CALL TO ORDER
Chair Person, Julie Pouliotte, called the January 28, 2025, Arts & Culture Advisory Board meeting to order at 9:03 AM.
 
2.
ROLL CALL
Present:
Julie Pouliotte, Chairwoman; Doretha Hair Truesdell, Vice-Chair; Ipyana Abayomi; Lisa Kessler; Nicola Angelos; Gloria Baxevanis
Staff Present:
Audria Moore, Special Projects Coordinator; Sara Delgado, Redevelopment Specialist; Brittany Meredith, Deputy City Clerk

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Any person who wishes to comment on any subject on this Agenda may be heard at this time. Please sign the sign-up sheet in order to speak. Please limit your comments to no more than five (5) minutes, as this section of the Agenda is limited to thirty minutes. The Arts and Culture Advisory Board will not be able to take any official action under “Comments from the Public” section.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
 
a.
Approval of the Minutes from the November 26, 2024 meeting. 
 

Motion by Vice-Chair Doretha Hair Truesdell, seconded by Gloria Baxevanis to approve the Minutes from the November 26, 2024 meeting.

Approval of the Minutes from the December 10, 2024 special meeting. 
 

Motion by Gloria Baxevanis, seconded by Lisa Kessler to approve the Minutes from the December 10, 2024 special meeting.

OLD BUSINESS
 
a.
Arts & Culture Trust Fund Update
The board discussed the funds and requested a report to show the revenue coming in.
 
b.
New Board Member "At Large" selection
The board discussed the candidates and selected Mr. Bey.
 

Motion by Vice-Chair Doretha Hair Truesdell, seconded by Lisa Kessler to recommend Mr. Bey as the “At Large” board member.

NEW BUSINESS
 
a.
The Zora Neal Hurston Experience Fest Sponsorship Request
The board discussed the request and approved the amount requested.
 

Motion by Gloria Baxevanis, seconded by Ipyana Abayomi to recommend approval of the $15,000 requested to the City Commission.

7.
BOARD AND STAFF DISCUSSION
 
a.
Arts & Culture Master Plan
The board reviewed the Master Plan. They will start to put together a 10-year plan. They all agreed the Old St. Anastasia building will be a large item in the plan. They asked staff if the map of the art in the city could be updated to show parks, historic buildings, and sculptures.
 
b.
Public Art
Redevelopment Specialist, Sara Delgado, let the board know that the FPRA is behind the Peacock Arts District murals. That includes Peacock, Lincoln Park, the beaches, and Downtown. The board let Ms. Delgado know the mosaic at Dreamland Park needs renovations, and they recommended a mural at 13th Street and Delaware Avenue.

ADJOURNMENT
Chairperson, Julie Pouliotte, adjourned the meeting at 10:12 A.M.
