MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE ARTS AND CULTURE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE 2ND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL, 100 NORTH U.S. #1, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, MAY 27, 2025.

CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson, Julie Pouliotte, called the May 27, 2025, Arts & Culture Advisory Board meeting to order at 9:07 A.M.

Any person who wishes to comment on any subject on this Agenda may be heard at this time. Please sign the sign-up sheet in order to speak. Please limit your comments to no more than five (5) minutes, as this section of the Agenda is limited to thirty minutes. The Arts and Culture Advisory Board will not be able to take any official action under “Comments from the Public” section.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Approval of the Minutes from the February 25, 2025 Arts and Culture Advisory Board Meeting
 

Motion by Vice-Chair Doretha Hair Truesdell, seconded by Lisa Kessler to approve the Minutes from the February 25, 2025, Meeting

Motion by Lisa Kessler, seconded by Ipyana Abayomi to approve the Minutes from the April 29, 2025, Meeting

NEW BUSINESS
 
a.
Discussion with Highwaymen Museum Mosaic Benches Artist
Mosaic Bench Artist, Anita, mentioned there will be four benches with eight images in total needed. She gave the committee a few ideas to choose from for the images. She needs the images by mid-June for the benches to be complete by the third or fourth week of July. The City will need to be able to coordinate with Public Works to pick up the benches and would need a truck with a back lift.
The Committee decided to hold a Special Meeting to choose the images needed for the benches. It will be May 30th at 10 A.M.
 
 

Motion by Ipyana Abayomi, seconded by Vice-Chair Doretha Hair Truesdell to choose eight images for the mosaic benches at a Special meeting on May 30th at 10 A.M.

Motion by Lisa Kessler, seconded by Vice-Chair Doretha Hair Truesdell to table this discussion until the next regular meeting.

FPRA Mural Program
Ms. Audria Moore let the committee know the program has been launched.

OLD BUSINESS
 
a.
Highwaymen Museum Mural Artist Recommendation - Update on the findings of references contacted for the top five artists.
The Committee discussed references for the Highwaymen Museum artist.
 

Motion by Lisa Kessler, seconded by Ipyana Abayomi to recommend the Street Art Revolution Collective as the artist for the Highwaymen Museum mural.

7.
BOARD AND STAFF DISCUSSION
Ms. Moore let the committee know that the Post Report for the Art in Public Places funds should be submitted within thirty days of the event.
 

Motion by Vice-Chair Doretha Hair Truesdell, seconded by Lisa Kessler to approve the Post Report to be submitted within thirty days of the event.

Chairperson, Julie Pouliotte, adjourned the meeting at 10:24 A.M.
