MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE ARTS AND CULTURE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE 2ND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL, 100 NORTH U.S. #1, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, JULY 22, 2025.

CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson, Julie Pouliotte, called the July 22, 2025, Arts & Culture Advisory Board meeting to order at 9:03 AM.

NEW BUSINESS
a.
Request for Highwaymen Al Black Gravesite Mosaic
The Committee discussed the request for the grave site mosaic for Al Black. It will cost $5,000 to do and will be installed after hurricane season.
Motion by Vice-Chair Doretha Hair Truesdell, seconded by Ipyana Abayomi to approve the request for the grave site mosaic costing approximately $5,000 and the funds to come from the Art in Public Places fund.

Zora Festival Report
The committee discussed the report.
6.
OLD BUSINESS
a.
Relocation of City Hall Sculpture
Special Projects Coordinator, Audria Moore, proposed the new location for the Bird and Snake sculpture, which is currently in front of City Hall, to be moved to Savannah Road at the Indian Hills Trail. The committee would like to put a call-out to the residents of the City for ideas to replace the sculpture in front of City Hall.
Motion by Lisa Kessler, seconded by Ipyana Abayomi to move the sculpture to the Indian Hills Trail and to put out the call for a new sculpture to replace it.

b.
Art and Culture Master Plan
The committee discussed the 10-year plan and would like a professional to assist them with creating it. They are going to bring ideas to the next meeting for a 1-year plan. They would like to hold a special meeting inviting the public to give them ideas for their 10-year plan.

BOARD AND STAFF DISCUSSION
a.
Appointee Commissioner Updates
Ms. Pouliotte asked the committee to speak with their commissioners that appointed them to get their thoughts and ideas for the committee to discuss.
b.
August Meeting
Julie let the committee know she will not be in attendance at the August meeting. The committee agreed for the August meeting to be an orientation meeting.
c.
Highwaymen Museum Mural and Mosaic Benches
The committee reviewed the finished benches and Ms. Moore let them know they were being picked up tomorrow.
d.
Art in Plublic Places Trust Fund
The committee discussed the trust fund transactions and how much is avaliable in the fund for projects.

Chairperson, Julie Pouliotte, adjourned the meeting at 10:41 A.M.
