CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Janessa Diaz called the meeting to order at 4:01 P.M.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
a.
Approval of the minutes from the November 20, 2025, Fort Pierce Youth Council meeting.
Motion made by Naomi Hypolite, Seconded by Elizabeth Outten to approve the minutes from the October 16, 2025 meeting with corrections to item 5c2.

OLD BUSINESS
a.
Essay Contest
Special Projects Coordinator Audria Moore presented the essays that were submitted for the board to read and determine the top 3.
Motion made by Timothy Nixon, Seconded by Vice Chair Reese Adams to keep the essays that were over the maximum word count.

The Committee gave staff their totals for each essay and staff totaled them. They agreed the essays were all well written. Essay #1 had the most points, followed by #3, then #2, with #4 having the fewest.
b.
Tallahassee Trip
Ms. Moore informed the committee that only those who completed the interest survey before the deadline would be attending the FLC Youth Legislative Action Days. Budget Analyst, Natasha Robinson let them know the permission forms were emailed out and need to be signed and returned by January 6th 2026.
c.
Youth Community Listening Session - Boys & Girls Clubs
The Committee discussed the listening session scheduled for February 12th at Percy Peek Gym. They will be running the meeting, they will be checking people in, passing out cards for any questions, running support, creating the checking sheet, and running the show. Ms. Moore let them know that the roles would be sent out to them. They will be discussing flyers at the next meeting.
7.
COMMITTEE AND STAFF COMMENTS
Ms. Moore let the Committee know that the Commission is very interested in feedback from this group. The ideas they are bringing to the table currently are being taken seriously; there are things happening in the City right now that will shape future generations. She also let the Committee know the Commission will be hosting a listening event at the local High Schools, and they would like the committee member that attends the school to be a part of the event. The first event is scheduled for March 2026.

Chairperson Janessa Diaz adjourned the meeting at 4:51 P.M.
