Approval of Minutes

Approval of the minutes from December 16th, 2025 Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Advisory Board Meeting.
 

Motion was made by Bob Burdge, seconded by Shirley Walker to approve the Minutes.

a.
Creating New Blue Tubes
Marsha Commond, Special Projects Coordinator, provided an update on the condition of existing Blue Tube stations, noting that most are in good condition with minimal maintenance needed.  She discussed the potential expansion of the program to additional areas, including Morse Creek, to encourage litter cleanup and community involvement.
Ms. Commond also recommended developing a formal program structure, including branding, guidelines, and a participation process, before expanding the initiative. A pilot program was suggested to evaluate effectiveness and community engagement; she will prepare a draft program framework for review at a future meeting.

Great American Cleanup Event Update
Marsha Commond, Special Projects Coordinator provided an update on the upcoming community cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, March 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the kickoff location at Rotary Park. Event promotion has begun through email, the city website, social media, and community partners. The event will include volunteer cleanup activities, breakfast sponsored by the FPUA, and participation from several city departments. Arbor Day will also be recognized with a tree planting at Pine Park and the distribution of small oak trees to the community. Youth participants can receive volunteer hours by submitting a cleanup report form. The committee also discussed increasing community awareness about litter prevention and encouraging broader outreach to engage residents and youth.

Ms. Commond also noted that the City is in the process of reapplying for its annual Tree City USA designation.
