Call to Order - Shyanne Helms called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.

Approval of minutes from the March 8, 2016 meeting.
Motion was made by Jane Zezeck, seconded by Chair Shyanne Helms to approve the minutes from the March 8, 2016 meeting.

a.
Matt Samuel Fort Pierce Lions Club; Arbor Day
Paul Bertram introduced special guest from the Fort Pierce Lions Club: Mr. Matt Samuel, Mr. Ron Vangelderen and Murray the dog.
Mr. Samuel spoke to the Board about Metro Bench Program. Lions Club will donate four (4) benches and contribute to the purchase of the Royal Poinciana Tree for the Arbor Day celebration on May 14, 2016. The Board discussed Lions Club participation and donations to some of the City’s special projects. Mr. Samuel spoke about the 100 Years Centennial Marathon and the Vidalia onion fund raiser that the Lions club will be hosting.
The Police Chief, Mrs. Walker and Paul Bertram will accept the Arbor Day Proclamation at the May 2nd Commission meeting.

New T- Shirts
The New T- Shirts have arrived Board thought they were absolutely beautiful and everyone was amazed by the color and art work.

Chief Hobley-Burney discussed with the Board the concerns with the Memorial Park. In the future we may have a special dedication wall or a fountain and possibly some different benches to honor fallen Police Officers. At this time we will support the Memorial Park with new landscaping. The Chief discussed moving the art from the current location in Hayes Park. Mr. Mimms asked the Board for suggestions. The Board mentioned City Hall, Marina Square, Backus Museum and the Yacht Club.

a.
Neighborhood Gems Award April
The Mayor and Board discussed the Neighborhood Gems program and that the Board if possible should attend the Coffee with the mayor. This Coffee with The Mayor was a big hit great music and the Gem winners were very excited about winning. A special thanks to our Mayor, Mrs. Vanderhorst and the Code Enforcement Department for all their hard work and commitment to the Neighborhood Gems Awards.
The Mayor and Board discussed the Neighborhood Gems program and that the Board if possible should attend the Coffee with the mayor. Great American Clean Up, Arbor day
The Board discussed projects for Great American Cleanup. Janey will order the Board shirts and pick the colors. Mrs. Wright suggested we have (4) four separate registration check in tables and that volunteer signup sheets be handed out afterwards. Trees will be given out at the Police Station during the Arbor Day event. The celebration will start at 10am on site at the Police station. FPUA and Waste Management will be hosting the food for our events. Mrs. Adair is going to lead a group of volunteers at the Jetty Park to remove trash from the beach. Mrs. Walker talked about the Fort Pierce Garden Club brining treats to the Arbor Day Event.

The board discussed the Transformer Art Work and agreed that it is a great project Mr. Hoffman told the Board that Tropicana will be sponsoring the next art project. A special thanks to Mr. Hoffman for all his hard work on the Transformer Art Project.
