Board discussed placing Mr. Matt Samuel on the vacant KFPB board position. The decision was made to bring the recommendation to the commission to have Mr. Samuel placed on the vacant position on the KFPB board.
Special guest Mrs. Pearl Davis and Clarissa Davis spoke to the board to adopt a program to allow persons to volunteer to help keep litter picked up and keep the street cleaned up. In return the city would place a sign recognizing the volunteer's participation. The board loved the idea and agreed to design the signs to recognize the volunteers for their participation. Mrs. Davis talked about her father and the length of time they lived in Fort Pierce. The board hopes this trend will continue and to have more citizens participate.
Board will in the future standardize the signs and place them accordantly.
Mayor suggested to the Board that Public Works could start a program recognizing outstanding work by the employees and letting the public reward them with tokens acknowledging their hard work.
Noe Torres talked about the restoring the Village project and how the youth would be getting involved. The board is looking forward to the event and congratulated Noe on his commitment to volunteerism.
