OLD BUSINESS
a.
Update on recommendations presented to City Commission - Nick Mimms, City Manager
1.Reverters 2.Survey 3.Grant Funding Exploration 4.Phased construction plan
Mr. Mimms explained that the City is currently looking into the release of the reverter, completing a survey, exploring grant funding, and phased construction planning.
Collaborations have begun with the Trust and Internal Improvement of the State of Florida and FDEP. The City has not yet identified plans for the parcels, but have all the necessary information to begin the conversation. Staff has asked the FPUA's attorney and the State for specifics in order to release the reverter.
A detailed survey has been obtained, which will accompany the reverter release request.
Also, a consultant has been retained and has provided a proposal at a very affordable cost.
The FDEP does not have grant dollars available, but has a State Revolving Loan Fund which is a low interest loan program. If this option is utilized, a repayment method has to be established.
Finally, the FPUA Board has decided to contribute to 1/2 the total cost of a regionalization study.
