MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS OF CONTRACTORS OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE CITY COMMISSION CHAMBERS, 100 NORTH U.S. #1, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, November 8, 2016.

Upon roll call, it was determined that Mr. Bergman, Mr. Grimsley, Mr. Sudderth and Mr. Langel were not able to attend the meeting.

Motion was made by James Matula, seconded by Robert Scott Bruhn to excuse the absences of Mr. Bergman, Mr. Grimsley, Mr. Sudderth, and Mr. Langel.

Discussion of Proposed Ordinance  to Amend Chapter 5, Article II (Contractors) Revisions and Amendments

After much discussion on the topics of permit fees, other violation situations and proposed fines, the Board carefully considered all aspects including their  ability to not only increase a fine, but also to dismiss, or lessen any fines imposed for a violation.   Mr. Messer indicated that he would work with Shaun Coss, Building Investigator to work on clarifying the wording and interpretation regarding the Board's ability to lower fines.  The Board agreed to discuss the subject further at the next meeting.
