Conference Agenda Meeting - Monday, March 13, 2017 - 8:30 a.m.
City Hall - 2nd Floor Conference Room, 100 North U.S. #1, Fort Pierce, Florida

Call to Order

Mayor Hudson called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m. and requested a moment of silence for the Deputy County Administrator, Robert Adolphe, who passed away over the weekend.

A.
Overview of City Boards and Committees - City Attorney

Mr. Jim Messer gave a brief overview of the City's Boards and Committees and evaluated each one for efficiency and consistency with how other cities operated their government.  Other options which were applicable to all boards were to eliminate compensation to board members, reduce the number of board members, establish term limits, review residency requirements, eliminate dual office holding issues as a best practice, eliminate participation of alternates and board discussions and deliberations, and change the duty of the City Attorney representation to only be required to represent the city.  Ordinances necessary to implement the suggested modifications will be forthcoming.
