MINUTES OF A SPECIAL STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, HELD AT THE RIVER WALK CENTER, 600 NORTH INDIAN RIVER DRIVE, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AT 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 10, 2017.

CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Hudson called the workshop to order at 9:03.

LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGIC PLANNING - Lyle Sumek, Sumek and Associates
Lyle Sumek conducted an overview of some of the challenges facing Fort Pierce and other jurisdictions around the county based upon the various sections of the plan. He revised the City and Departmental successes of 2016 based on the Strategic Plan. Mr. Sumek reviewed in detail with the Mayor and Commission Section 7 of the 2017-2022 plan setting forth and prioritizing the goals, objectives, challenges, opportunities and action items for 2017 while developing others for future years. Based on the Mayor and Commission's input, he will develop a Policy Agenda, Management Agenda, Management in Progress and Major Projects for 2017. In approximately one month, he will conduct another workshop with both management and the Mayor and Commission to set for the plan for 2017 and beyond.
