Progress Payment #4 in the amount of $30,000.00 due to Huntington Beach Electric Inc of Huntington Beach, CA for Hawthorne Jim Thorpe Park and City Hall Council Chambers Lighting Project (Project #23-07)
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve this Progress Payment #4 to Huntington Beach Electric Inc of Huntington Beach, CA.
DISCUSSION:
This project includes providing all services, labor, materials, permits, insurance, tools and equipment needed, in accordance with the Plan and Specifications to successfully and safely complete the lighting retrofits and panel upgrade at Jim Thorpe Park and retrofitting Hawthorne City Council Chamber.
The work consists of procuring and installing a new electrical panel and (80) light fixtures at Jim Thorpe Park. As well as, procuring and installing (75) light fixtures, (4) new televisions, and the removal and dispose of existing projectors/screens and all other work necessary to complete the improvements in accordance with the Plans and Specifications.
Huntington Beach Electric Inc has removed and replaced all futsal court lights and the baseball field lights. They are currently in the process of obtaining and installing the new electrical service panel, upgraded original 400A SWG to a 600A SWG, eta completion by April 2025. They installed new breakers to existing panel, rewired/paired poles and added new conduits.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN:
This lighting and panel upgrade can contribute to our economic strategic plan in several ways. For example, the new energy efficient light fixtures will help lower cost of lighting the baseball and futsal courts at Jim Thorpe Park and promotes a more inviting environment for residents to participate/attend city council meetings thus helping the City create a recognizable and relevant brand.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. Funds for this progress payment in the amount of $30,000.00 will be paid for with funds through Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program.
