Correcting a Typographical Error in Amendment No. 5 to the Agreement Between the City of Hawthorne and U.S. Tow for Non-Exclusive Towing and Storage Services
 

Staff Recommends that the City Council Approve the Corrections Made to Amendment No. 5 to the Agreement with U.S. Tow for Towing and Storage Services.

During the regularly scheduled city council meeting of June 10, 2025, the City Council approved Resolution No. 8535, which approved a Fifth Amendment to the Tow & Storage Fee Schedule of the Non-Exclusive Towing & Storage Contract with U.S. Tow.  Section 2 of the resolution authorized the City Manager to execute the 5th Amendment and "make minor changes thereto."  The resolution was accompanied with two attachments, Amendment No. 5 to the Agreement and a copy of the letter of request from U.S. Tow with the schedule of fees.  A typographical error occurred in transferring the fee schedule to the 5th Amendment in only two items from the list of 19 items.  Item No. 5 Storage Motorcycles (Per Day) erroneously had $7.00 when the correct amount was $8.00 and Item No. 12 Tow Heavy Duty Which Requires Special Equipment (Per Hour) erroneously stated $447.00 when the correct amount should have been $477.00.  Since Resolution No. 8535 authorized the city manager to make minor corrections, the staff herein seeks the approval of the council to make the minor corrections without a new resolution.  The U.S. Tow letter is attached to show the intent of the 5th Amendment.
