RESOLUTION NO. 8570 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAWTHORNE, CALIFORNIA ADOPTING A TRANSFER AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT AND HAWTHORNE AGREEMENT NO. 2024MP31 SAFE, CLEAN WATER PROGRAM - MUNICIPAL PROGRAM.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Approve Resolution No. 8570 adopting the Transfer Agreement.
DISCUSSION:
On June 25, 2020, the County of Los Angeles Flood Control District ("LACFCD") completed and approved its Measure W Municipal Program transfer agreement, which supports local governments to address local storm water and urban runoff challenges and opportunities. LACFCD administers and allocates Measure W municipal funding to each city within the District. The funds will be expended for the implementation, operation and maintenance, and administration of storm water, urban runoff capture and runoff pollution reduction projects and programs. The term of the agreement begins in June 2024, and expires in June 2028.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN:
Policy 8.5: The City shall continue to work closely with funding and regulatory agencies that support our infrastructure. City departments shall continue to work cooperatively to ensure that improvements to the infrastructure are kept apace of wear and tear as well as technological advances.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There will be no impact to the City's General Fund. Annual revenues from Measure W are anticipated to total $800,000 in Fiscal Year 2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026, 2026-2027 and 2027-2028.
