RESOLUTION NO. 8569 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAWTHORNE, CALIFORNIA APPROVING WAGE TERMS OF THE EMPLOYMENT OF THOSE EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE HAWTHORNE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATION PART-TIME (HMEA-PT).
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 8569 approving the wage terms of employment for employees represented by the Hawthorne Municipal Employee Association Part-Time (HMEA - PT)
DISCUSSION:
The State of California has announced an increase in the minimum wage from $16.50 per hour to $16.90 per hour, effective January 1, 2026. The City's Memorandum of Understanding for its part-time employees of the Hawthorne Municipal Employee Association needs to reflect the new minimum wage.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN:
Not Applicable.
FISCAL IMPACT:
A minimal increase in salary for some part-time employees who are currently at the 2025 minimum wage.
NOTICING PROCEDURE:
72 hours posted notice pursuant to the Ralph M. Brown Act.
