DISCUSSION:

The City of Hawthorne’s Public Works Staff solicited proposals for lighting upgrades at the Hawthorne Police Department. The facility, built in 2002, spans approximately 89,424 square feet and currently utilizes a combination of tube fluorescent, compact fluorescent, and high-intensity discharge lighting. To improve energy efficiency, visibility, and operational control, this project is designed to furnish and install new LED lighting and advanced lighting controls. These controls include manual switches, occupancy sensors, dimmer switches, and lighting panel circuit breakers to optimize functionality and energy savings. This final payment includes adding 54 sensors and 45 power packs, extra panel fixtures, and cabling needed to complete the work.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN:

This project at the Police Department emphasizes sustainable practices that align with the City's environmental and sustainability objectives. By prioritizing sustainable approaches, the city can contribute to a cleaner and greener environment while fostering economic growth.
