A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAWTHORNE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE MEMBERSHIP COMPOSITION OF THE KHHR COMMUNITIES NETWORK COMMITTEE AND CLARIFYING THE ELECTIONS AND TERMS OF THE CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Staff Recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 8509
DISCUSSION:
The City of Hawthorne maintains the Hawthorne Municipal Airport (“Airport”), which is currently the subject of a master lease agreement between the City of Hawthorne and Hawthorne Airport, LLC. The city adopted Resolutions No. 8030 and 8038 help address community concerns as to noise and the general operation of the airport. After the implementation of the committee, the city amended the composition of the committee to remove the FAA, who were not allowed to participate, and to add the representatives from the City of Manhattan Beach and Beach Cities Aviation Academy. This resolution would once again amend the composition of the committee by removing members who are either no longer in existence, are redundant, or who have asked to be removed. This will help the committee reach a quorum on a more regular basis. This resolution also clarifies a conflicting provision as to the term and elections of the Chair and Vice-Chair. In order to avoid confusion, this resolution repeals resolution no. 8120 in its entirety.
