Agreement between the City of Hawthorne and DTA to perform a Development Impact Fee Study
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the agreement with DTA and authorize the City Manager or his desginee to enter into and execute the agreement.
DISCUSSION:
Public Works issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to prepare a Development Impact Fee Study and make recommendations on new and updated development impact fees. The City received three proposals from qualified firms with relevant experience preparing fees for a variety of public improvements. After a thorough investigation involving analysis, interviews and evaluation from City staff, it was determined that DTA was the best fit for the project due to their extensive experience in preparing these types of fees and familiarity with the updated laws and government codes.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN:
This is part of Objective 2.1 in the City's Economic Development Strategic Plan to re-evaluate and update the City's Development Impact Fees.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. The estimated funds for $74,145 are available in the adopted fiscal year 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 budgets and will be paid for under the impact fees fund.
