Publicly receive, open, declare sealed request for bids and award of Section 3 Contract for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded Hawthorne Crenshaw Village Commercial Rehabilitation Project #CRP-2401.
 

Staff recommends that the City Council publicly receive, open, declare sealed request for bids and award the Section 3 Contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Dan Contractor of Riverside, CA.
 

The City’s Commercial Rehabilitation Program (CRP) was authorized by the City Council on July 23, 2021. After an application process, design phase, and Planning Commission approval, the staff publicly advertised the Crenshaw Village CRP with a due date of December 20, 2024. The City received three bids with each accompanied by bid bonds. After a thorough review of the proposal, reference checks, and verification of the contractor’s license, staff determined that Dan Contractor of Riverside, CA. was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

This project consists of demolition, structure installation, storefront windows, electrical, lath and plaster, VICWEST wall siding system, metal wall cap, storefront door and window repairs, scissor gates or roll-up gates, exterior paint, exterior lighting, address identifiers, channel letter signs, concrete planter box removal, and all other work necessary to complete the improvements in accordance with the Plans and Specifications.
