BACKGROUND
Senate Bill 1827 created the Texas Opioid Abatement Fund and its Council. The purpose is to manage and distribute opioid settlement funds for remediation of opioid-related harms. Funds support prevention, treatment, recovery, harm reduction, data surveillance and other strategies.
