Authorization to waive the County of Hidalgo’s eligibility for the State of Texas Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2009 and granting Affordable Homes of South Texas, Inc., (AHSTI) a non-profit organization the authority to apply on our behalf.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has granted the County of Hidalgo a grant in the amount of $ 2,867,057 from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program and is currently administered by the Urban County Program office.

AHSTI has an excellent tract record in community development and to date has constructed over 100 new homes in rural Hidalgo County. Their strong organizational capacity helps to ensure compliance with grants while meeting construction goals and deadlines.
