The Urban County Program is requesting the award of bids and approval of contract for the demolition and reconstruction of the following:

1. (1) Units in the Countywide area, (1) Unit in the City of Penitas, (1) Unit in the City of Alamo and (1) Unit in the City of Elsa in the amount of $181,650.00 to Benchmark Construction.

2. (1) Unit in the City of Mercedes, (2) Units in the City of Weslaco, (1) Unit in the City of Edcouch and (1) Unit in the San Juan area in the amount of $218,120.00 to G&G Contractors.

BACKGROUND

The applicant was approved to receive assistance under the Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program by the County Commissioners’ Court on July 12, 2011 & September 20 & 27, 2011 and October 11, 2011. Bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County Purchasing Department on Wednesday, November 9, 2011.
