Requesting approval to cancel the bid award and approval of contract with G & G Contractors for the demolition and reconstruction of one (1) unit in the City of Elsa in the amount of $42,240.00.

BACKGROUND

Bids were received and opened at the Hidalgo County Purchasing Department on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Shortly thereafter, the County of Hidalgo Purchasing Department provided the Urban County Program with the bid tabulation sheet that indicated G & G Contractors was the lowest bidder for the City of Elsa project. Therefore an agenda for awarding of bid and approval to enter into contract was submitted and approved by CC on November 22, 2011.  However, after a review of all bids received on November 9, 2011.  Home Staff noted that G & G was not the lowest bidder, since their bid was actually $46,240.00 and not $42,240.00.
