The City of Donna is requesting approval of contract with 5 Star Construction in the amount of $168,442.50 for a Water/Sewer Improvement Project utilizing FY's 14, 17, & 18 (2001-2004 & 2005) UCP funds.

BACKGROUND

The project consists of the installation of a 10 inch water force main at FM 495.  Bids were opened on March 23, 2007 at the City of Donna and 5 Star Construction was the lowest of seven bidders.  See attached letter for recommendation from J.E. Saenz & Associates.

Contractor:         5 Star Construction

Contract amount:     $  168,442.50

Funds Available:      $ 220,365.17  (2001 - $ 52,072.54) (2004 -  $ 52,052.93)  (2005 -  $ 116,239.70)
