Discussion, consideration, and action to discontinue employee payroll deductions for all Voluntary Insurance products no longer offered by the county.

BACKGROUND

Currently the county processes payroll deductions for all voluntary insurance products that the county no longer offers.   It is in the county’s financial interest to discontinue payroll deductions for these voluntary products not offered by the county due to administrative costs such as reconciliation, review, and payment issuances associated with managing these policies.   Employees will have the option to keep the coverage for these voluntary products; however, will be responsible for paying their own premiums directly to the insurance provider.
