Sheriff's Office - Rifle Resistant Body Armor Grant Program (1284):
1. Authorization and approval to apply for the Rifle Resistant Body Armor Grant Program with the Office of Criminal Justice Division (CJD).
2. Authorization for County Judge to e-sign application under eGrants as authorized official.
BACKGROUND
Grant will be administered by the Office of the Criminal Justice Division (CJD).
All projects must begin between January 1, 2018 and March 1, 2018. The project period cannot exceed 12 months.
Grant funds are restricted to obtaining body armor compliant with the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) standard (Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor NIJ Standard-0101.06) type III (rifles) or type IV (armor piercing rifle) body armor, including bull-resistant vests, ballistic plates, and plate carriers.
