County of Hidalgo Urban County Program (UCP) is disclosing that Marissa Medelez, who works at Proyecto Azteca, has applied to purchase a home through its Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Program.

As per 24 CFR 92.356(d)(1), the UCP must publicly disclose that Marissa Medelez, who works for Proyecto Azteca, has applied for homebuyer assistance through the UCP’s CHDO Program.  Due to the fact that the Hidalgo County Urban County Program awards an annual allocation of HOME Investment Partnership Program funds to Proyecto Azteca, the regulations of 24 CFR Part 92 apply.  As such and in compliance with 24 CFR 92.356(d)(2), the UCP requested and received a legal opinion from Mr. Steven Crain, County Attorney.  The legal opinion received stated that the approval of the application for Ms. Marissa Medelez, would not violate Texas state or local laws.  As a result, the UCP must publicly disclose the abovementioned case before it can request an exception from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
