1. Authorization and approval to accept grant award for the FY 2023 Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) - Impaired Driving Mobilization Grant with the Texas Department of Transportation through e-grants for the period of December 13, 2022 to September 7, 2023 in the amount of $4,998.93 with authority for County Judge, as authorized official, to accept award electronically.
2. Approval to pay overtime reimbursable under the grant terms and conditions.
3. Approval of certification of revenues, as certified by the Co. Auditor, for the FY 2023 STEP - Impaired Driving Mobilization grant award of $4,998.93 to include in-kind match of $1,250.00 for a total appropriation of $6,248.93

BACKGROUND

Match will be treated as an "in-kind" match and will be covered using social media "hits" as per the TXDOT Earned Media Value Index guidelines. The purpose of the STEP-Impaired Driving Mobilization grant is to increase effective enforcement & adjudication of traffic-safety laws to reduce fatal & serious injury crashes related to DWI/DUI within Pct. 4 jurisdiction (enforcement zones) as well as to enhance public awareness & education.
