Discussion, consideration and approval to have Hidalgo County participate in the Public Health Provider - Charity Care Program.  The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Public Health Provider - Charity Care Program allows qualified providers to receive reimbursement for the cost of delivering healthcare services, including behavioral health services, immunizations and other preventive services when those costs are not reimbursed by another source. 

The next program period runs from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026 and consists of an approved Charity Care Policy, mandatory training attendance and completion of an Annual Cost Report due by November 14, 2026.
