Urban County Program on behalf of the City of Alton is requesting authority to purchase fire protection equipment through Hidalgo County’s membership and participation with Buy Board (Texas Association of School Boards) approved vendor Dooley Tackaberry (contract # 363-10) in the amount of $41,564.88 (quote attached hereto) to include shipping fees. City of Alton UCP Years 23 & 24 (2010 & 2011) Fire Station Equipment funds will be utilized.
BACKGROUND
The fire protection equipment, to include helmets, monitor for hoses/nozzle, aeration tube (adaption for nozzle), hydrant wrenches, gas detectors, stream shaper for a longer water stream, nozzles, fire swatters needed for grass fires, spanner wrenches to disconnect hoses from fire trucks, pike poles for roof penetration, head harnesses, air packs, cylinders, and jumpsuits for use in the city limits of Alton and surrounding areas. Payment in the amount of $41,564.88 will include warranties, customer assistance and delivery. Delivery is expected within 30-60 days.
