Urban County Program (UCP) is requesting Commissioner’s Court consideration and approval of appointing the Urban County Program, Executive Director as the Self Help Center (SHC) Coordinator:

Consideration and approval to authorize the County Judge to act as the County’s Executive Officer and Authorized Representative in all matters pertaining to the County’s participation in the Texas Community Development Program, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA)-Office of Colonia Initiatives (OCI) Self Help Center Fund application(s).

BACKGROUND


The purpose of the SHC is to improve the general living conditions of colonia residents in the designated Colonia SHC area and to assist individuals and families of low-income to finance, refinance, construct, improve or maintain a safe, suitable home in service area or in another area approved by TDHCA. The UCP Executive shall ensure the County’s compliance with rules/regulations as required by TDHCA-OCI for the Self Help Center.
