2.  Authorization and approval to accept the Memorandum of Understanding between the Hidalgo County HIDTA Task Force and the Starr County HIDTA Task Force.

BACKGROUND

The mobile and portable radios being transferred were purchased by the Hidalgo County HIDTA Task Force utilizing
$99,747.00 (81.17%) of HIDTA Grant Funds and $23,134.34 (18.83%) of Equitable Sharing HIDTA Funds. 

As set forth under the HIDTA Program Policy and Budget Guidance;section 6.3.2 Disposition of Equipment:  Before disposing of any HIDTA-funded equipment, all HIDTA grantees must make the equipment available to the HIDTA Director for possible use by another HIDTA participant.

The Guide to Equitable Sharing for State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies; the recipient law enforcement agency may at its discretion, , transfer the tangible property to another governmental department or agency to support drug abuse treatment, drug and crime prevention and education, housing, and job skills programs, or other community-based programs.
