Discussion and action for adoption of a Resolution of the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1, Single-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The Disaster Mitigation Act encourages cooperation between state and local authorities, tribes, and the community to reduce the effects of disasters. Under the Disaster Mitigation Act, states and local governments must have an approved and adopted hazard mitigation plan in place to be eligible for disaster assistance. The District was awarded Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding to develop a mitigation action plan on October 17, 2016. The Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1, Texas Single-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan has been prepared in accordance with FEMA requirements 44 C.F.R. 201.6 and has been approved by FEMA and the State pending Board of Directors adoption.
