BACKGROUND
The Hidalgo County Office of Emergency Management and Sheriff’s Office have partnered on a preparedness initiative to bring various preparedness training throughout rural Hidalgo County. Through the “Prepared Not Scared” initiative the agencies have committed to working closely with multiple County departments and supporting agencies. The first event targeted training on fire prevention, domestic violence, crime prevention, Census updates and the importance of 911.
