Requesting approval of the First Amendment to the 2018 HOME Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Program Agreement between Hidalgo County Urban County Program (UCP) and Proyecto Azteca, Inc.

The 2018 HOME Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Program Agreement with Proyecto Azteca included the construction of a total of four (4) to six (6) new homes for qualified families. The unexpected circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic brought major challenges to the CHDO’s ability to meet its construction goals. The pandemic has caused several families that were already pre-qualified to drop out of the program due to job loss and as a result they wouldn’t be able to afford the mortgage. In addition, other potential applicants had COVID-19 family loss.  As such, Proyecto Azteca has requested a one (1) year extension to the 2018 CHDO Agreement from November 2, 2020 to November 2, 2021.
