FY 2022 - Body Worn Camera Grant Program (1284): 
1. Ratify authorization and approval to re-submit grant application for FY 2022 (03/01/2022 - 02/28/2023) Body Worn Camera Grant program to include Constable Pct. 1, Constable Pct. 3, Constable Pct. 4, and Constable Pct. 5 into the Sheriff's Office grant application, as directed by the grantor agency in order to combine all law enforcement agencies into one grant application. 
2. Authorization for County Judge to e-sign application and all related documents under e-grants as authorized official.

BACKGROUND

Grant will be administered by the Office of the Governor-Criminal Justice Division (OOG-CJD), Match requirement is 25% of total project cost. Estimated total cost of project $411,606.  OOG Grant Funds = $306,079.50, Co. Cash Match = $105,526.50 
County law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have requested authorization from Commissioners Court to apply for the FY 2022 Body-Worn Camera Grant Program.  The agenda items seeking authorization to submit initial applications are stated below:

As directed by the grantor agency, grant applications have been consolidated into one master application.  The principal applicant is the County Sheriff.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

No fiscal impact at this time; ratificaton of grant application only. The FY 2022 Body-Worn Camera Grant program requires a 25% Co. Cash Match. Each participating Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) is responsible to fund their respective cash match. Possible funding source for cash match is General Fund or CCP 59 Forfeiture Funds (if available). The Estimated Categorical Budget for each law enforcement agency (LEA) is stated below:

Granting agency requires that separate categorical budgets be established for each LEA for budgeting and accounting purposes. Account numbers for each respective LEA will be created by the Co. Auditor's Office upon grant award received from grantor, acceptance by CC, budget is established, and COR by Co. Auditor.
